Norm Luther’s accusations against Congressman Baumgartner are baseless, written in ignorance, and only echo left wing talking points.
Mr. Luther accuses Congressman Baumgartner of undercutting Zelenskyy by saying that he is not doing a great job. That does not undercut him. Zelenskyy has been at war for quite a while now and continues to back out of cease fire deals. The U.S. has given hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine. We are now finding out that much of that is unaccounted for. It’s our duty to be critical of where our tax money goes, and we definitely don’t want our troops involved in another war. Want to get Russia where it hurts? Get the European countries that keep buying Russian oil and gas to stop and get it elsewhere.
How can Mr. Luther say that democracies owe a great debt to the Ukrainians and Zelenskyy? Without the billions that the U.S. has funneled to Ukraine, they would have folded very quickly. If anyone owes a debt of gratitude, it’s Zelenskyy. By the way, I wouldn’t call a guy who has suspended Presidential elections, a defender of democracy. Zelenskyy has done just that.
Perhaps the most ridiculous statement that Mr. Luther makes is, “that Zelenskyy is widely credited with saving much of the free world”. That statement alone discredits his entire letter. It’s downright insulting to all those that have served our country. Saving the free world looks like what we did against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan 80 years ago. Relying on a superpower to give you billions of dollars to keep a war going and suspending elections is not the same. Speaking of Nazis, I would urge Michael Kelso, the left, and the Democrat party to stop accusing everyone they disagree with of being Nazi or a fascist. The Nazis were socialists (it’s in their name, National Socialist German Workers Party. They were against free speech, didn’t allow private firearm ownership, and wanted to wipe the Jewish people off the map, among other things. The Republican Party strongly supports free speech while others try to regulate it through “hate speech” laws. They also strongly support Israel, fight for our 2nd amendment rights, and are definitely not socialists. One last thing on Nazis, there are a lot of Neo-Nazi groups in Ukraine fighting for them. NBC news and other outlets have reported on this.
Congressman Baumgartner was justified in his criticism of some of the people at the town hall. They were out of line and only wanted to disrupt it. They had no desire to debate like adults.
The democrats and Mr. Luther must still think that a majority of Americans care about President Trump’s felony convictions because they can’t stop bringing it up. You would think that they would have realized this last November. Mr. Luther also accuses Congressman Baumgartner of having cultish political ambitions. This couldn’t be further from the truth. On a personal level, we got to know the Baumgartner family through Cub Scouts. They are great Americans, and Congressman Baumgartner is a patriot.
